The Morro Bay Harbor Festival serves as a fundraiser for San Luis Obispo nonprofit organizations. Substantial proceeds from the Morro Bay Harbor Festival generated by the admissions are shared with nonprofit groups who help crew the waterfront weekend. Each group is reimbursed in proportion to the time the group donated. The Festival Volunteer program has been recognized on city, county and state levels for its collaborative approach to fund raising. Since 1987, almost $270,000 has been disbursed among participating San Luis Obispo County nonprofit Organizations.

Organizations interested in volunteering for the event should contact the Festival office and request an application to volunteer. Applications are available by stopping by the Festival Office or calling (805) 772 - 1155.

Independent Volunteer Program

Additional opportunities exist for anybody interested in participating as a volunteer for the event. Independent Volunteer Applications are also available by calling the above listed number or stopping by the festival office at 895 Napa Avenue, Suite A-3 in Morro Bay. Volunteers of all ages and ability levels are encourage to volunteer in an area of interest with in the Festival.
