California's coastline
flows 1,000 miles, from Crescent City in northern California to San Diego
in the south and extending to the Channel Islands and beyond. The ocean
waters of the Golden State yield an amazing variety of fish and shellfish
- more than 300 species are delivered to market each year. The ocean off
central California and Morro Bay is a transition zone: harvested here
are important northern California species such as king salmon, sole and
several types of rockfish (also known as Pacific snapper) as well as many
seafood varieties also found in southern waters, such as swordfish, squid
and albacore tuna.
Be sure to sample the variety of top quality California seafood prepared for you by local chefs at the California Seafood Faire - and taste the tradition of quality that is the hallmark of California seafood. |
