Do you have the most outrageous Hawaiian shirt? The loudest, the ugliest or the most seasonal? Now is the time to put your taste to the test by entering the Morro Bay Harbor Festival’s Hawaiian Shirt Contest.

The contest will be judged in 10 categories, including Best Boy and Best Girl (12 years and younger), Best Matching Couple, Best Water-Related or Fishiest, Best Elvis “Blue Hawaii,” Best Vintage-Style, Best Seasonal, Best Muumuu, Loudest and Ugliest. Not to mention the Coolest of Show--the grand prize winner. There is no fee to enter. The contest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5

Warm up for the Harbor Festival at Beach Fun Run

The Morro Bay Recreation and Parks Department will host the Morro Bay Harbor Festival Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 5th . The five-mile race begins at 8:30 a.m. sharp at Morro Rock. Participants of all abilities and ages are encouraged to enter. After the start, racers will head to North Point, then turn back to finish at Morro Rock. A running and walking division will be offered. In addition, awards will be given to the top three racers in each category.

The pre-registration entry fee is $10, or $15 including a T-shirt. Race day registration cost $15 or $20 with a shirt. When racers purchase a T-shirt with their entry fee, they will receive free admission to the Harbor Festival on Saturday. Enter Year 2004 Harborfest Poster Design Contest

Capture the fishing village character of Morro Bay and win up to a thousand clams. The winning poster design will be adapted for a variety of applications, including T-shirts, invitations, wine glasses, brochures and rack cards.

Deadline for entries is June 30, 2003. The judging panel will be made up of the seven directors of the Morro Bay Harbor Festival, as well as advisors from the graphic arts and commercial fishing industries.
